Brick & Spoon

More Than Just Brunch

Brick & Spoon in Biloxi and Gulfport are two South Mississippi restaurants known for their sophisticated creole brunches as well as their dedication to the community.

“We were the very first brunch spot on the Coast and we are the only restaurants that serve brunch seven days a week,” said Owner Kerri Paul, who owns both locations with her business partner Britni Thompson.

“A lot of restaurants only serve brunch on the weekends, but we serve it all day, every day, seven days a week,” Paul added.

The eateries are casual and hailed as the best brunch spots on the Coast, serving up freshly made dishes from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. daily. They are famous for their Shrimp and Grits along with their Benedicts, including Bayou and Crab Cake Bennys. You can even enjoy Build Your Own Bloody Marys with over 25 topping choices, such as Tasso Deviled Eggs, Pepper Jack cheese, pickled carrots, or whopping Gulf Shrimp. Treat yourself to an appetizer and cocktail, all in one with the Build Your Own Bloody Mary! And after the restaurant is closed for the day it can be rented for parties and events, complete with catering.

“Our food is made with lots of love, lots of butter, and all the southern goodness that you would expect from your comfort favorites,” she said. “We have an out-of-town feel with local flavors.”

What also sets this local gem apart? You can rent the facilities after hours for catering and special events.

Paul grew up in Pass Christian and graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi where she learned only 50 percent of Mississippi’s public university graduates chose to work in the Magnolia State after leaving college. Her main goal after graduation was to return to the Coast as an entrepreneur to put her education to work providing a tax base and local jobs. Her husband, Matthew Paul, a Major League Baseball certified agent, introduced his wife to Thompson. Now, two franchises later, the Paul and Thompson families are dedicated to giving back to Gulf Coast communities.

“We hope people understand that when they’re supporting Brick & Spoon they’re shopping local and supporting the vision that we have to pour support back into the Gulf Coast,” says Paul. “We want to do everything we can to help the Coast continue to grow.”

The Biloxi location on Eisenhower Drive near Edgewater Mall is celebrating its fourth anniversary in August. Paul said it offers an intimate dining and catering experience, while the Gulfport location on Crossroads Parkway is nearing the one-year mark and is slightly larger, meaning it has all the room you need to make your celebration special. You’ll enjoy the same casual atmosphere and Southern comfort food in both locations.

“We love to serve our Gulf Coast community, from day-to-day dining to events large and small,” added Thompson.

So call your friends and tell them, “Meet me at The Brick” – this will be the one call they won’t want to send to voicemail.
