Jack’s By The Tracks

Good food and good music often go hand in hand. Great food and great music are even better! There’s something special about winding down the end of the day or a long week with a cold drink, a hearty meal, epic tunes and, most importantly, the people in your life that make you smile. All of these things and more can be found in downtown Pascagoula at a local favorite: Jack’s by the Tracks.

Jack’s opened its doors in 2011 and has been a Pascagoula staple ever since. Featuring an eclectic menu with a sushi focus, Jack’s is an easy choice for a quick lunch, a family meal or a night out with friends. But is it possible to take something great and make it even better? With the right leadership, of course! Pascagoula food duos Chad and Steven Brady with Brady’s Steak and Seafood, along with Ramsay Taylor and Matthew Mayfield of Tay’s BBQ joined forces to form one amazing culinary collaboration and take Jack’s by the Track’s to an entirely new level.

Jack’s menu keeps it simple by offering the right amount of menu staples, some showcasing a terrific Asian flare, alongside a great sushi selection. Jack’s team wanted to keep the menu exciting by offering unique items that could only be found at their location. Hands down, begin your meal with the Crawfish Balls. Crawfish and rice are rolled, hand-breaded and fried to perfection, then topped with a sweet soy sauce, spicy mayo, wasabi and red tobiko. This appetizer is a meal in itself.

For your main entrée, if you want a meal on the lighter side, the Poke Bowl is great. Seared tuna serves as a beautiful centerpiece of this colorful salad, surrounded by rice, cabbage, pickled vegetables, mango, and much more. Crispy fried wontons make for the perfect finishing touch. For a heavier choice, the Shrimp and Grits are a must-try. Everyone has their own take on shrimp and grits and Jack’s is no exception. Smoked Gouda cheese grits serve as the foundation for a massive pile of crispy fried shrimp tossed in a house watusi sauce. Think “Bang Bang Shrimp” meets Shrimp and Grits. This is something I would order over and over again.

If you are at Jack’s for the sushi, you will not be disappointed. Their “Mississushi” selection offers a little something for everyone without being overwhelming. The Green Dragon is a house favorite, along with the Rainbow Roll. A customer favorite and Jack’s signature roll is the Pascagoula Run. Aptly named for the harmoniously famous sounds of certain local legends, the Pascagoula Run features fried shrimp and avocado in a soy wrap, battered and fried and topped with sweet soy, spicy mayo and tobiko. In addition to sushi, Jack’s offers a great selection of po’boys and house tacos.

At the helm of Jack’s transformation, the Bradys, Taylor, and Mayfield have worked together to elevate Jack’s from a simple restaurant with music to a go-to hotspot offering delicious food, cool live music and an ambiance to fit all needs. Open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., bring the family out to Jack’s by the Tracks and you’ll see just what the fuss is all about!
